My Healthy Horse @ 5:28 pm:

Epiphysitis a lesion observed radiologically at the epiphyses of long bones and the ends of ribs of animals affected by osteodystrophy. Clinically there is swelling of the bone and there may be subsequent epiphysiolysis or separation of the femoral head.

NutraWOUND can help with this problem. By adding Vitiman-D2 and Vitamin-K it will enhance the effectiveness of the NutraWOUND.

GastroPLUS with HGH added would work too. However HGH is not legal in any competitive horse, so we don’t use it often.

Please take a look at the testimony at http://www.myhealthyhorses.com/case-study-ocd-and-djd-nutrawound/ and give us a call if we can answer any questions.

I have one quarter horse and two ponies that have all of a sudden gone lame. They are on very limited pasture and I have not changed their hay. (They don't get grain) They are on good flat ground, and I don't believe that they have foundered - we have gone through that before and they do not stretch out and their hooves do not feel warm. We live in New England - thank you for any help!!

does anyone have any experience in treating photosensativity with this nutra-wound stuff. does it work????

Joe @ 12:26 pm:

NutraWound and photosensitivity - I've had LOTS of experience with it! I have over 300 horses and in the summer I see plenty of photosensitivity - scratches.

Of course, no alfalfa for those horses.

I apply ZonOx first to soften the scabs and after about 5 minutes wipe it off. I was really amazed; the scabs came right off without any bleeding or pain. Then I mixed some NutraWound powder and some ZonOx in the palm of my hand (yes it stains and is a mess…but worth it), and smear it all over the irritated area.

I also use the fasting formula whenever possible! The combo seems to work really well.

Lameness - Interesting! Have you had any x-rays or radiographs taken? Our typical protocol for lameness is NitrOxide in the am, to increase blood flow to the leg and hoof, then NutraWound which increases collagen production to fill in any pits in the interior hoof and knit back together any muscle injury. NutraWound is administered in the evening because that is when the body heals (during rest).

We are currently working with horses in a specific region in Colorado. Because of the mining there, the ground water has many things in it that a horse should not drink. ALL of the horses born there have extreme laminitis by the time they are 4. We put these horses on the above protocol. Because they were so bad it took 3 months for the lameness to go away. Now they are working hard at Team Penning competitions.

Please keep us posted on how your horses are doing!
