Colic

Colic can generally be termed as a bellyache from any number of different causes. Ulcers are one cause of colic due to stress, illness, NSAID use. Heavy parasite load can also cause colic and tiny ulcer lesions as well. After a horse has undergone extensive colic surgery, his recovery is going to be quite intensive. After post-colic surgery, some horses end up with complications like salmonella, laminitis, peritonitis, or adhesions. Nutritionally supporting the horse to help overcome or prevent some of these issues is paramount to a successful recovery.
